Last month we ran our first Ochre House think tank event in Hong Kong. With speakers and participants attending from many global organisations, the event generated a lot of stimulating debate around resourcing and talent management.

Apple has found themselves in a tricky situation. Three fake Apple stores have recently been exposed in China. Not a big issue in itself, but the onslaught that’s followed has certainly created a reputational crisis both for Apple and the fake stores involved.

The latest study by the Center for Work-Life Policy has found that the solution to China’s search for skilled talent is much closer than it appears. It says that the answer to the problem is highly qualified Chinese women.

In the June 2011 addition of Harvard Business Review, there is an interesting article exploring some of the misunderstandings and fallacies about China when seen through a Western lens.

Of striking reality is the size and scale of growth of what is commonly referred to as China’s domestic demand.
